PSHE and RSE at Kennington
Since September 2020, Relationships and Health Education has become a statutory requirement for schools to teach. Parents do not have the right to withdraw their child from these lessons.
At Kennington, we also feel it is important to teach Sex Education when the children reach Year 6 however this is not a statutory requirement and parents do have the right to withdraw their child from this lesson.
We provide information online (below) so parents understand our legal obligations and also help them to make an informed choice when it comes to removing their child from the one Sex Education lesson in Year 6 should they wish to do so.
